NBC has scored a major find in bringing a European hit television show to the American television screens. Originally called "The Voice of Holland", the show here in the US will be called "The Voice".
It's on Tuesday nights on NBC and is the perfect show to make all the "Glee" fans crazy (it's on at the same time), so the DVR's are going to be being used wisely, I hope.
Four coaches are the stars, who get to pick eight singers by the sound of their voice. They are in chairs turned with their backs to the contestants until they decide they want to have them on their team. If more than one coach turns around, then the contestant gets to pick his coach. Each coach picks eight singers and then when that is done, they face off in what is called "The Battle" where each team will sing the same songs and the coaches have to pair their teams down to the "Final Four" and these 16 will then perform for a live audience and for America's votes.
This season the coaches are Adam Lively, drummer and singer for Maroon 5; Cee Lo Brown, Grammy award winning singer-songwriter; Blake Shelton, country music superstar; and Christina Aguilera, million-selling recording artist with what has been called 'the voice' of the current decade.
The show got off to a great start last night and after the first two hours each team had chosen three singers. Next week they will try to round out the teams to have eight each and then in the following weeks comes the 'Battle' and then the finals, in which the winner will receive a major recording contract and $100,000 in cash.
Hope you all join me in watching this fantastic new show on Tuesday nightsj.

Forgot to mention that Last night's show is being repeated tonight so can catch up with this great idea in a search for the next big star.
Also we don't have to put up with auditions and stuff. These people have already auditioned for the show and those with some semblance of talent have been invited by the producers to try their luck at being the next "Voice".

It's Tuesday and that means round two in the search for "The Voice" is on NBC at 8 pm EDT (7 Central). Set your DVR's up to record this show after you watch "Glee".
Each team has three of their eight members, so tonight's auditions should be great, as was last week's. I like the fact that we don't have to put up with people who don't have any talent, these contestants have been through the tryout process in front of the producers and then invited to perform for the chance to win $100,000 and a recording contract.
The coaches (or judges) are Adam Lively (Maroon 5), Cee Lo Brown (singer-songwriter/producer), Blake Shelton (country singer/songwriter) and Christina Aguilera (singer/songwriter pop star).
This is a unique way to choose the singer, because the judges can't seen them until they press a botton on their chair that turns them around to see who is the face behind the voice. I like this because they are judging on talent, not looks and other things.
Don't miss "The Voice", it's on Tuesday nights on NBC.

Okay all you "Glee" fans, with their season wrapping up you still have time to get in on the fun that is "The Voice" on NBC on Tuesday nights at 10 pm Eastern (9 pm central).
This past week show filled the teams of the four coaches. We now have 32 singers ready to go into the "Battle" rounds of the shows. During this time the for four team coaches will have to eliminate four members of their teams. When they get down to just 16 members then they will appear before a live audience and the television viewing audience will get to vote for their choice to be the next "Voice". The winner receives a recording contract and $100,000.
Next Tuesday's show (May 10) will begin the "Battle" rounds of the competition. This show is going to give American Idol a run for its money.

Competitive reality shows like American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, etc. are really not my cup of tea, but The Voice has gotten some very good reviews.

Midge you should give this show a watch. Beverly hates that I like "American Idol" and "Dancing With the Stars", but she is the one who got me to watch the first week of "The Voice" and now I hooked.
This week was the first of the two "Battle" rounds. Each coach picked two of their team members to sing the same song, and then had to eliminate one of them after their performances. A unique way of getting us down to the "live" show that is coming in two weeks.
We lost four contestants this week, and will lose four more next week. When each team is down to their final four, we will get the chance to vote along with the coaches for our favorite.

I watched it for about 10 minutes but quickly lost interest. Next time I'll try harder. I do like some reality programs. My favorites are Sister Wives, Mystery Diagnosis, Little Miss Perfect, Untold Stories of the ER, Hoarders and 19 Kids and Counting.

Last night's show (Tuesday, May 17) was a really good show. Four more contestants made it through to the "live" rounds, and we still have two more weeks of "Battle" left. Cee Lo Green was really put on the spot last night as his "favorite" singer was put on the same as stage as another favorite of his and he had to choose which one to send home. You could tell it was very heart-wrenching, but I think he made the correct call.
Each team now has two members for the "live" show which will begin in three weeks.

We are down to the finals next Tuesday (June 28) when the Final Four will take the stage and do a song of their choice and an original chosen by their coaches.
Already renewed for a second season, "The Voice" has turned out to be a very good show. Carson Daly is the perfect host, and the team coaches - Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, and Blake Shelton - will be back for the second season which will start in January 2012.
The odds-on favorite to win this is Javier Colon, but there is a lot of talk going around about Dia Frampton. Next Tuesday night at 9 Eastern, 8 Central is the big two-hour finale. Sorry, you folks on the West Coast, like most of these types of shows you get the tape delay.

Tonight (Tuesday, June 28) begins the two-day finale event to crown the first "Voice" in the United States version of "The Voice". The winner receives a recording contract and $100,000 cash.
Tonight is the two-hour performance finale. Finalists include Javier Colon, Beverly McClelland, Vicci Martinez, and Dia Frampton. Each will sing two songs, one original picked by their coaches, and one of their own choosing.
Wednesday night will be the one-hour Results show with the results of our voting to crown the first winner of "The Voice". It all begins tonight right after "America's Got Talent" auditions show at 9 pm eastern & pacific, and 8 central. Unfortunately those on the West Coast don't get to see this show "Live" as those of us in the Eastern and Central time zones do. But you can still participate in the voting.

The first season of "The Voice" came to a rousing conclusion last night with the pro-nouncement of Javier Colon as "The Voice".
Wonderful results show with some very special guests dueting with the four finalists. 2% of the votes from the voting separated the first place and second place winners.
The second season of The Voice will begin in January 2012 and will last a little longer than the 10 weeks this first season did. All the same principal characters will return - Carson Daly as the host, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levin, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton as the coaches and it will be on Monday nights on NBC.
