MTV began, first video played was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles. When MTV got its' start, I don't think we had cable. If we did, we didn't get that channel. By the time we got it, the major heyday was over, but I still watched it occasionally.

I had cable in those days, and I remember early MTV. It's amazing that 30 years has gone by.

Especially since the letter M T V stood for Music Television Videos, and now you would find it hard to find any music on MTV because of all the crappy shows they think are the now thing and aren't.
I prefer to watch VH1 Classic because they haven't forgotten what got them where they are today.
If I could drop MTV without dropping some other channels, I would without hesitation because I don't watch any of that stuff they show today.
