What is the most expensive wine that you have bought?
Post by Midge on Sept 13, 2015 17:07:21 GMT -6
One time I bought a bottle of Chateau Lafitte Rothschild at Trader Joe's. It cost about $125 (£81). Because it was such a prestigious, high-priced wine, Al and I waited a couple of years to drink it in order to let it age a little more. Finally with great anticipation we opened the bottle and poured it into the wine glasses we'd bought especially for the occasion only to discover that the wine was OK but not anything special. I think it was either not a good year for that wine or that it had been improperly stored. Maybe that's why Trader Joe's was selling it "cheap" (by Lafitte Rothschild standards, anyway).
