This is a biography of Joan Crawford by Charlotte Chandler. I enjoyed it, there were many photos of her that I'd never seen before. Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. shared many memories of his relationship with Joan. There were many people who had interesting opinions about Christina and Christopher. They told about how difficult those two kids were and defended Joan against the "Mommie Dearest" stories.
All in all, a good book, I'd recommend it.

That sounds like a great book. It amazes me that one awful story by one awful person can be written in stone almost (Christina's allegations). When the book "Mommie Dearest" was published so many, many people came out in support of Joan, and yet years later they are still having to defend her so vigorously - it doesn't seem fair. I can remember one of her friends being interviewed and saying Joan was so not like that , were those children (the ones that made the allegations) even living on the same planet!!!!
