Two friends on a fishing trip stop to pick up a stranded motorist, who turns out to be an escaped convict. This psychopath has already murdered before and won't hesitate to do so again.
He threatens the two men and tells them that he has them he plans on killing them before the end of the trip, which he plans to get to Baja, California.
A pretty good film, starring Edmond O'Brien, Frank Lovejoy, and William Talman.

Hi! Larry, This film is considered a "classic film noir"....What makes it even more "outstanding" is the fact, that it was directed by a woman.....the 'woman' actress Ida Lupino. I was told by "film noir aficionados" that was "very rare" for 1953. (I agree a very interesting film!) FNF The link below provide more information about the film "The HitchHiker."www.imdb.com/title/tt0045877/
