Nope, I haven't been north of Seattle.
Have you ever been to Hawaii?

Yes. My aunt and uncle have a time share on the big Island, so all we have to do is get there. Haven't been in about five or six years. Maybe we should go this year............naw, we have the Second Annual Diner Reunion to attend this year.
Do own a full set of matching travel luggage, or just separate pieces?

Separate pieces - I used to have a complete set, but 1 suitcase and the garment bag fell apart, and I've since acquired a huge wheeled suitcase which is heavy even when it's empty.
Do you collect dishes?

Not on purpose, but I have inherited a lot of old Homer Laughlin dinnerware, a large china platter and depression glass serving pieces from my grandmother. All of it is packed away in the garage for my niece, if she ever gets married and gets a place of her own.
Have you ever gotten any really bad advice?

Hmmmm, let's think, there was the time that I told my uncle that I was thinking of getting married and he said "Go for it" Have you ever been drenched when opening a can of Coke ?

No, but I spilled a raspberry smoothie on myself once when I was on vacation in Hawaii.
Have you ever given someone (including yourself) a haircut?

No I haven't, it would be a very brave person who would let me loose on their hair with a pair of scissors in my hand. Have you put a new plant in your garden this year?

No, I'm afraid it might make the old ones jealous. What is the most exotic or unusual food that you have eaten?

Yes, I tasted rattlesnake meat once. Have you ever tried to count calories?
|
|
|
Post by dvdjunkie on Jun 7, 2010 12:17:17 GMT -6
Being a diabetic I must count calories each and every day. I am only allowed 2300 calories a day, so I have to watch what and when I eat. I hate it, but as long as my doctor says she is happy with my weight and the way that I am losing it, I am good with it.
Would you rather count calories or carbohydrates when dieting?
|
|
|
Post by Midge on Jun 7, 2010 14:44:24 GMT -6
I'm counting calories, too, and I like that better than counting carbs. Calorie counting is more flexible because it gives you the freedom to eat whatever you like just as long as you stay within your allowance.
Do you read in bed?
|
|
|
Post by dvdjunkie on Jun 9, 2010 13:13:06 GMT -6
Not every night, but maybe three times a week. Most of the time I am watching a movie that keeps me up late and I am ready to go to sleep right away, the other nights I find reading a book is a good way to unwind from a bad television show.
Do you allow your pet/pets to sleep in your bed with you?

Does a teddy bear count? What is your favorite sandwich?

Peanut Butter (crunchy) and Jelly is my all-time favorite, but recently I discovered, thanks to the television commericals, Subway's Orchard Chicken Salad Sandwich, and it is slowly becoming my favorite.
What is your favorite salad?

What is your favourite chocolate centre?

Once again too many to list, but See's chocolates with chocolate buttercream, mocha or butterscotch centers are among my favorites.

Germany, because my nephew and grand-niece live there. What movie star do you have a crush on?
|
|
|
Post by dvdjunkie on Jun 14, 2010 13:22:53 GMT -6
In my younger days it was Loretta Young, I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world and never missed an episode of her television series. Today it is hard because there are so many stars that I like, but if I had to pick one I guess it would be Cameron Diaz.
Do you have a favorite singer (one that you listen to the most)?

It would be a tossup between Enrico Caruso and Bryn Terfel, the Welsh bass-baritone.

Post by dvdjunkie on Jun 15, 2010 17:28:40 GMT -6
Used to live 9 miles from the Mexico/California border in the little town of El Centro, so we were across the border on a regular basis. The food was the big draw for us, it was very good and very cheap.
Have you ever been up in a Hot Air Balloon?

No, but I've taken a blimp ride over San Francisco.
Have you ever owned a boat?
|
|
|
Post by dvdjunkie on Jun 16, 2010 8:42:57 GMT -6
Nope. Too much maintenance for me. I don't know anyone who owns a boat that wishes they didn't, yet they spend more time fixing it than using it. Have you ever been deep sea fishing?

No, not this week, but I did have smoked salmon pasta last week.
Did you have any spaghetti, noodles or pasta this week?
