Somehow I really get a kick out of the film fictionalizations in MPS. Double if it's a lost film. It kinda makes me feel like I'm a movie buff from way back then experiencing, if not the film itself, all of the buzz. Does anyone share this fondness for these items as crudely written as they often are?
I'd love to stumble on some kind of index on this type of stuff (MPS wasn't the only such publication with this practice). Anyone have any idea where to find such an animal?

Sorry for being obtuse. Back in the day, some of the film magazines would hire, for lake of a better word, a hack writer to write a brief story based on a recent film. They'd never be too long, usually 4-6 pages with some dialogue but more than just a brief summary. In my experience, Moving Picture Stories invariably would feature 2 or 3 of these. But I've found some fictionalizations in other mags too.
I've chanced on such items as Terror Island (a Houdini film), The 1914 version of The Road to Yesterday (yup, an earlier version of the DeMille picture) and a few more. This has usually been on a hit-or-miss basis via ebay. It would be nice to have an index to make up a hunt list. But I'm probably dreaming.
