I love the appearances on the Colgate Comedy Hour, do you have the one where Jerry Lewis imitated Ed Sullivan and Dean imitates celebrities in the audience (while real celebs sit next to him??) That's a great one!!

That's a great one!! No Kimmer I don't have that one. One of the skits is where Jerry Lewis is a gulf caddy and Dean Martin comes to play gulf.. They are quite funny I have watched them a few times and will watch them several more.....

Thanks Kimmer. Watching that makes my day. What memories of typing class that brings back. Now look at us. NO return, don't need to count lines, backspace to aline our title, margins, tabs, etc. The computer does it all. Must admit, learning maybe simpler. Or is it? The gradeschool here just put in, wide-screen tv's for gym class. Yes, gym class. So the students can be active playing WII. Like WII tennis, ball, etc. What's wrong with that picture? Yes,they say they are still having physical activity. Whatever happen to laps around the gym, rope climbing, flag football, basketball or good OLD square dancing? Sad,I think. IMO.

Liz, you brought back typing memories for me, too! I was a secretary for many years. Remember carbon paper, and what a hassle it was to make corrections on multiple copies? I have fond memories of those IBM Selectrics with the interchangeable "golf balls" so you could use different fonts. Also, the IBM Executive typewriters that had proportional spacing, so that the I took up less space than an "m". That made centering a line more difficult because you couldn't just count the letters!

Mercy, I forgot all about that stuff! Now, we're all showing our true ages here! :embarrassed: I remember having to backspace to center everything, plus setting tabs and margins, as well as all the carbon stuff. Plus I recall single- or double-spacing and using pica or elite pitch, depending on what I was typing. Geez! What ever happened to all those old typewriters?
