Opening this week in theaters across the country is the newest directorial effort from Woody Allen, Blue Jasmine, starring Cate Blanchett, Richard Conte, Alec Baldwin and Peter Saarsgard. A wonderful movie that sort of sums up what most Woody Allen movies are all about.
If you have never seen a Woody Allen movie, this one is the one to see. If you are an avid Allen fan, then you won't be disappointed in this film.
A near life tragedy causes a narcissistic woman to move from New York to San Francisco to try to reconnect with her sister. That is about the best I can do without ruining the whole premise of this great film.
Beverly and I watched this, and were not disappointed by anything that happened in the film. My wife is now talking to our daughter to try and get her to go see the film on a "girls night out!"
On the Junkie movie meter this film gets a rock-solid 4 stars out of five stars.

Thank you for the review, Bill. I would very much like to see this movie because part of it was filmed in the West Portal district, which is the shopping and restaurant area near where I live. I'm sure a lot of the locations will look familiar. Blue Jasmine is playing in our neighborhood movie house on West Portal Ave., and I am hoping to convince Al to go see it with me.

I'm not familiar with the title, but I don't see movie trailers much since we don't have network television in our house and I don't really watch a lot of TV anyway. However, it sounds like it would be an interesting movie to watch, and I think I'll have to try to bring it to TC's attention the next time I catch up to her in our comings/goings. Thanks for the great review, Bill!
