Here is the perfect film for the holidays. It is G-rated, which is a bonus in-it-self, and is probably the most wonderful 90 minutes you will ever spend in a theater in a long time. Starring Dustin Hoffman in the title role, and featuring Natalie Portman, Zach Mills, and Jason Bateman as Henry, The Mutant (you have to see the movie to understand the joke). Mr. Magorium is approaching his 423rd birthday and he has decided that it is time for him to leave this earth and leave his Magical Toy Store to his General Manager, Molly Mahoney (Portman). She doesn't want the responsibility and it is up to Mr. Magorium to show her why she would be perfect for the position. Hoffman carries off this role with ease, and all the other actors just fit their roles like a glove. The special effects are very imaginative and are very well done. The credits at the end are very creative and a show unto themselves. I can highly recommend this for the whole family, young and old alike. There is something for everyone is this wonderful film from the studios of 20th Century Fox. 4/5 stars and I will add this to my DVD collection when it is released. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Thanks for the recommendation, Bill! So few movies these days are worthwhile, it's good to hear about one that is.

I agree with Midge! The last time I went to a movie in a theatre (more than a year ago), almost every preview they showed sounded perfectly horrible.

Bill, thank you for the extremely high recommendation of this film! TC and I just got back from seeing this at the theater. You are absolutely correct! This is a most wonderful film! ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) I am a huge fan of Dustin Hoffman's anyway, and this was one of his superb roles! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) In fact, in the earlier part of the movie, I saw reminiscences of his role as Raymond ( Rainman); they couldn't have picked a better person for this role. :uhuh: Natalie Portman doesn't particularly excite me, but she was great in this film, too! ![:-*](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/kiss.png) It was definitely worth the money, and time well-spent!

I would really like to see this. It looks like a good family film. If Larry likes this then it must be worth watching. This isn't the type of films that I am used to him watching AND liking.

Well just let me start by saying OMG I want to work there. Also let me add this the first movie I watched with Larry and he DIDN"T have to ask any questions about what was going on in the movie... This will be another classic one to live on for years to come.
If you have a dream and see this movie and you will learn what it means to belive in yourself.
