Has any one seen THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP? It is a wonderful movie with one of my favorite actors... ROBIN WILLIAMS. His supporting cast includes John Lithgow as a transsexual former football star and Glen Close that plays Garps mother, Jenny, a nurse and feminist. It is the story of T.S. Garp, and all the things that he encounters in his life. He dreams of being a writer and his mother is the one who ends up with a best seller. In this movie you laugh, cry and a couple of times say oh gross. Especially the scene with the dog ear and the car scene with Garps wife and a student. All I can say is ouch! If you like Robin Williams then this one is a good classic of his to watch.

I haven't seen this movie.
There WAS a time I could not stand Robin Williams at all! The American television series Mork & Mindy is what made me despise him in the first place; I hated that show! It wasn't until around the mid-1990s, when I first saw his movie The Fisher King, that I came to like Robin Williams; that was the movie that MADE me like him!!!!
From that time on, I have liked him ever since. Then I started going back and catching up on many of his older movies. But Garp, Popeye, and Moscow on the Hudson are still among a few of his older ones I'm yet to see.

I have GARP so, you know, you can always borrow it from a lovable, friendly family member *cough-cough-me*
I loved WHAT DREAMS MAY COME & PATCH ADAMS, and thought that he played a creepy guy pretty good in ONE HOUR PHOTOEven though the movie itself was a stinker. I still can't set through AWAKENINGS. But that is for personal reasons. He has a new one coming out called RV[/i].

I liked the movie; I loved the book! John Irving's books are almost always just brilliant. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I love this film only for the John Lithgow's role as Roberta and Glen Close as Jenny his wacky Mom. What ever happened to Mary Beth Hurt? She was good as his estranged wife. vallo

Yes this was a good movie for Robin Williams. Although I have not see too many of his films or shows I dislike...... I even like the voices he done for the Disney movies. Such as "Aladdin I and Aladdin III" both were good. He didn't however lend his voice in "Aladdin II cause he and Disney were going through some differences of opinions. ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) :-[You know like we sometimes do at the diner ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png)

I thought that he didn't do the second one because he really didn't like to do sequels. they got the voice of Homer Simpson instead. Well, there are always different stories floating around so I don't really know.

No honey what happened was Disney did some mechanizing without Williams approval and he took Disney to court during the 2nd movie. that is why he didn't do the 2nd one but did the 3rd.
