Well, it has been a while since I have seen a movie that I think might get lost in the shuffle, but here's one that we saw this weekend. PENELOPE stars Christina Ricci, Reese Witherspoon, Catherine O'Hara, Peter Dinklage and James McEvoy. A delightful, feel good story about a young lady (Ricci) who is born with a nose that resembles a pig's snout. Naturally she gets made fun of by her peers as she is growing up, but now she is of the dating age and afraid that no one will ever ask her for a date. Her doting mother (O'Hara) tries to set her up with some different boys and they all run away screaming at the sight of her 'snout'. She decides to runaway from home, and is picked up by a biker chick, delightfully played by Witherspoon, who realizes the young lady's predicament and takes her on a no-holds-barred trip into the real world. Enter our prince (McEvoy), the handsome young Prince from "Enchanted", and he sweeps Penelope off her feet, and without spoiling the ending, will tell you that all is resolved in the end, after some pretty hilarious predicaments. Just a total fun hour and a half in the theater with a very good movie. I can highly recommend this one, and will be adding it to my collection when it comes to DVD later this year.
