To post a movie still you need:
Here is the procedure:
1. Play the movie in your DVD player. When you find a scene you want to use, pause the movie.(It may take several attempts to get the still you like.)
2. Capture the still. (There is a PC command for this, but since I have a Mac, I don't know what it is. My Mac won't let me capture stills, so I have to photograph the screen instead.)
3. When you have captured (or photographed) the stills you want to use in the game, eject the DVD and upload your photos to your photo program. If necessary, edit the images in your photo program until they look the way you want them to. Hint: if you title the images, don't use a title that will give the movie away. When you are happy with your images, drag them to your desktop if your computer lets you do this. The stills will appear on your desktop as icons.
4.Go to your Photobucket account and log in. Click on "My Albums" (the blue tab). Two windows will open. The left hand window should say "Upload Images and Video." This is where you select the specific item you want to upload. On the right-hand side of your screen, you will see a blank "From" window. This is where you select the source of your upload (Computer, Web URL, Mobile Phone, E-Mail). Click on "My Computer."
5. Underneath the Upload window, clock on the blue "More Options" link, This is how you select the maximum size of the photo. You have several options: Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, 15" Screen, 17" Screen, etc. The size that works best on message boards is Medium, so click on that. You should see your selection in the window to the left of "More Options."
NOTE: Select size first, then upload.
6. In the Upload Images and Video window, select "Desktop". To the right, a menu will open up that shows you all the items on your desktop. Select an item. You will see an image of your photo.
7. From the middle menu, further refine the location. From the right hand menu, select your photo. You will see a small image of your still. The address of the still will appear in the File Upload menu. Optional: give the still a title, "Movie Still #1" for example, then click Open. Your photo will upload and then appear in your album.
8. Scroll down to your album until you see the photo you want to post. Click on IMG Code.
The address of the image will turn blue, and you will see a small yellow box that says, "Copied."
9. Navigate back to Larry's Diner. You can now post your movie still in your message by going to the Edit menu and selecting Copy.
Good luck! As I have mentioned, these instructions may vary slightly if you have a PC, but this is the basic procedure that should work with all computers.
- A computer that can play DVDs
- A Photobucket.com account. This service is free, but you have to sign up.
- A digital camera, if you have a Mac.
