Probably a really huge big screen television. I saw a 15' Projection Hi-Def television setup on HGTV the other day and I think that would like nice in our basement/Movie room.
What is the one thing you have bought in the last year that you have never really used?

A can of pink salmon. One of these days I'm going to bake a salmon loaf -- but not today. Who is your hero (or heroine)?

The men and women of our Armed Forces who fight to keep this country free from tyranny and such are probably my biggest heroes and heroines.
If you could spend a week in one major city, all expenses paid, where would you go and why?

Hmmmm - the really big cities like New York or Chicago are places I don't want to go, so let's stick with Portland, OR. I grew up 150 miles from there and can count on one hand the number of times I went there in my childhood (with someone else driving, of course), so I really don't know Portland very well.
If you could visit any country in the world for free, where would you go?

I would visit England, because most of my ancestors came from there, and I because I wouldn't need to learn a new language. If you could live anywhere you like (cost of living not a factor), where would you go?

It may sound monotonous, but I'd like to live anywhere in Western Oregon (Eastern Oregon is too much like Utah as far as climate and scenery).
What's the largest city you've ever visited?

What were some of your favorite games when you were a child?

Hmm - Ring around the Rosy, War (with cards), can't recall anything else specific that I liked but I can remember a few I hated because some people used them as an excuse to be mean.
What was your least-favorite childhood game?

I didn't like hide and seek because one time when I was "it," I hid myself but all the other kids ran away and didn't come back. What is your favorite sport?

NASCAR racing!!! I have been to all of the major tracks, but two, and hopefully before I get too much older I will get to see those. I haven't been to Fontana in California and the Las Vegas Speedway. My favorite NASCAR track is Bristol, Tennessee.

I don't do sports so the answer is "none"
What is your favorite vehicle?

Lots of vehicles appeal to me, but if I could have any new car I think I would choose a Chevy Malibu because it's made in the U.S.A. by an American company. We need the jobs!
Have you ever taken in a stray animal?

No I haven't, not unless I can count my wife. Ooohh, Jeff, that's harsh! Yes, I have been known to dunk on occasion. :embarrassed: Who is your favorite singer?

Hard to choose, there are lots of singers I like. At present it's a toss-up between Josh Turner and Rascal Flatts.
What's your favorite TV show?

At this time it's "America's Got Talent" for reality show, and "Burn Notice" for drama.
What is your favorite television commercial?

Post by Midge on Jul 13, 2011 17:16:10 GMT -6
I like the AT&T commercial where the family is sitting at the table having dinner. The younger brother is reading his sister's diary and she replies, "When you're done, I'd like some feedback." The dad says, "We read it from cover to cover. Loved it!" Then the mom asks the dad, "Do you mind if I cut the lawn this weekend?" and he replies, "Only if you let me talk to your mother for hours on end." (The point is that if you can watch up to four shows at the same time on different TV's with AT&T UVerse, so you will have harmony in the family.) Is there a TV commercial that you really hate?

Yes there are a few that I dislike. One of them is for a fungal remover for toenails. It has the worst slogan of all time "Don't have criminails get Curanail" D'OH. Have you ever worn a wig?

Yes, a long blonde wig when I was posing for an amateur photographer. It looked ridiculous on me! When is the last time you bought new clothes?

We have one desert plant in the kitchen window which seldom needs watering, most of the time we forget it's there. How often do you vaccuum your house?

Post by Midge on Jul 16, 2011 2:28:42 GMT -6
I vacuum about once a week.
Do you like silent movies?
|
|
|
Post by dvdjunkie on Jul 16, 2011 7:50:44 GMT -6
Not really!!! But I am a work in progress in learning to enjoy them more thanks to Larry and the beginner's list I got a couple of years ago. Just watched "Wings" in its entirety for the first time ever, and thoroughly enjoyed it. "The Iron Horse" is one that I have watched several times because of Tom Mix, who was one of my favorite cowboys when I was a child.
Do you have many Silent movies in your collection?
|
|
|
Post by annavandenhazel on Jul 16, 2011 13:35:37 GMT -6
I have one set of 4 silent movies, given to me when my mom moved to Texas: Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid" and "Tillie's Punctured Romance" on one DVD, Buster Keaton's "The General" and "Steamboat Bill Jr." on the other. None have been watched yet but I have seen "The General" before.
Do you prefer black & white or color movies?
|
|
|
Post by Midge on Jul 17, 2011 3:49:28 GMT -6
I have no preference. Black and white, color, I don't care. As long as it is a good movie, that's all that matters.
What are you wearing right now?

A nightgown covered with pictures of citrus fruit (look what time it is when I write this, LOL!)
