Bev's bath towel is a pretty blue, while mine is multi-colored. Since we share the bathroom with the rest of the family we are stuck with whatever clean towel is hanging up.
Does your household decor have a certain theme?

No, unless "old mismatched furniture" is a theme! I guess you'd call it "Eclectic" Do you have any trees in your yard/garden?

Yes. We have a beautiful dogwood tree in our front yard and it provides lots of shade during the summer.
Do you prefer indoor or outdoor plants?

I don't really have a preference as I like both.

We are having leftover spaghetti and meatballs with salad, wine and sourdough bread.
Have you ever changed a baby's diaper/nappy?

Yes!! As the father of twin girls I was called on for that duty more than I can count. It's really not that bad.
Have you ever misplaced your car in a parking lot and were to embarrassed to tell anyone about it?
Post by Midge on Sept 12, 2012 14:01:37 GMT -6
Yes, although at the time there was nobody to tell as I was alone. I parked in a large downtown garage that has about eight levels, and I couldn't find my car. It was very embarrassing and rather scary, too, as I walked from one level to the next anxiously scanning the rows of vehicles. When I finally found the car after about 30 minutes of searching, my prepaid parking ticket had expired and I had to pay overtime charges.
Have you ever known someone who has an unusual or comical-sounding name?

I always liked Dilbert and The Family Circus.
Did you read comic books as a child?

Post by dvdjunkie on Sept 16, 2012 10:50:00 GMT -6
Yes!!! My favorite was Captain Midnight, but I read a lot of others including Archie, Steve Canyon, Superman, Batman, anything in the Action Comics series.
Did you ever read "Nancy Drew" or "The Hardy Boys" books when you were younger?
Post by Midge on Sept 16, 2012 17:22:49 GMT -6
Yes, I loved both the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and read as many of the books as I could get my hands on.
Are you having autumn weather yet?

Post by dvdjunkie on Sept 17, 2012 9:28:52 GMT -6
Yes. At this time of the year, we are getting nice weather for sleeping with the nows in middle 50s, and during the day it is about 75. But, in Kansas, you never know what tomorrow will bring, so you keep the umbrella and snow shoes handy, and don't forget the sunblock. Our Indian Summer is just about due.
If you could have lunch with your favorite celebrity (living or dead) who would it be?

How many pets have you had, and what are/were their names?
Post by dvdjunkie on Sept 19, 2012 10:01:22 GMT -6
Five that I can remember, let's see if I can remember their names. My first dog was named Mugsy, he was a heinz 57 breed, then we had a Pekinese dog and his name was Rooster. A few years passed and I don't think we had any pets until I was married to Beverly and we have had three dogs, Lady, who was a Bijon/Poodle mix; Jake, a Chihuahua/Doxie mix; and O.J., who was a Bijon/poodle mix.
In this computer age, do you still rely on your memory for Birthdays, Anniversaries and such or do you still have them written down somewhere?
Post by Midge on Sept 19, 2012 12:59:14 GMT -6
I remember most birthdays without help, but I also have reminders in my computer's datebook and write them down on my kitchen wall calendar.
Would you rather have a gift certificate for your birthday or an actual present that you can unwrap?
Post by dvdjunkie on Oct 1, 2012 10:18:39 GMT -6
I much prefer Gift Certificate (especially from Best Buy) so I can get what I really want. I am at the age now where I am very hard to buy a gift for, even if I am asked to make a list of what I might like, it usually is wrong. So it's gift certificates for me.
Do you ever return gifts (to the store where purchased) to get something else you would like better?
Post by Midge on Oct 1, 2012 17:49:39 GMT -6
Yes, although I don't like to do it unless the gift is something I really can't use.
Have you ordered any merchandise on line recently?

Yes I have a new keyboard which I bought online and a Blu-ray version of To Catch a Thief. Do the letters on your keyboards fade?

They used to on my old computer (I had to replace the keyboard twice), but the keyboard on the new one is holding up really well.
Do you have anything planned for the weekend?
Post by dvdjunkie on Oct 7, 2012 9:43:33 GMT -6
No!! We use the weekends to get our batteries charged for the week ahead. The 8-year-old grandson is in the second grade this year, and the almost 5-year-old grand daughter is in Pre-K. We have a pretty hectic schedule during the week to get kids to and from school and the Cub Scouts, Awana, and Running Club (all for the kids) we lose track of days and time sometimes. When Saturday and Sunday come the only thing we have on the schedule is Church on Sunday and my NASCAR race. Otherwise it is just a layback couple of days.
Will you decorate for Halloween this year?
Post by Midge on Oct 7, 2012 17:37:29 GMT -6
Yes and No. I put some Fall decorations on the dining room table (wheat stalks, miniature pumpkins and gourds), but I will not decorate the outside of the house and probably won't have a jack o' lantern.
How often do you shop for groceries?
Post by dvdjunkie on Oct 8, 2012 8:56:02 GMT -6
Twice a week for the main meals, and sometimes daily for little things. Not always. We have been really working on a pretty tight budget so we use a list when we go shopping and try to stick to it.
Do you use a shopping list at the grocery store?
Post by Midge on Oct 8, 2012 16:51:43 GMT -6
Yes, I usually have a list even if it's only in my head.
Do you have a favorite You Tube video that you have watched again and again?
Post by dvdjunkie on Oct 9, 2012 14:31:39 GMT -6
Yes. There are actually two that are in my favorites: "It Never Rains in California" by Albert Hammand; and the other one is "I Love You To Want Me" by Lobo.
What favorites do you have on YouTube?

Jack & Coke Bread Pudding (as seen on Guy Fieri's Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives television show. It is amazing how good it tastes, and I guess since I am not a drinker of alcoholic beverages, it is that little zing that Jack Daniels brings to the pudding. What is or are your favorite snack foods?

Post by Midge on Oct 13, 2012 17:18:13 GMT -6
Jack and Coke bread pudding, that sounds interesting. I don't have one single favorite, but I enjoy crunchy snacks such as hot buttered popcorn, cheese straws, seeded crackers with hummus dip and tortilla chips with salsa. Did you make or receive any telephone calls today?
Post by Roger Thornhill on Oct 23, 2012 17:57:04 GMT -6
No I didn't not really but I did pick up the phone when it rang, only to hear a pre-recorded message about reclaiming payment protection insurance. Have you had any "cold-callers" recently.
Post by Midge on Oct 23, 2012 18:10:54 GMT -6
Yes, but I use the answering machine to screen all my calls, so they hung up without leaving a message.
