Yes, on a compilation CD of instrumentals I have "Quiet Village." I think my husband might have an old Martin Denny LP somewhere in the archives.
Do you watch those Saturday night Lawrence Welk reruns on PBS? (For non-U.S. citizens, the question is, have you ever heard of Lawrence Welk?)

Yes, on occasion. We always look to see what the theme is going to be for the show.
Do you ever watch Austin City Limits on PBS?

I've never seen it, but I was within the actual city limits of Austin just 4 days ago. Do you regularly watch any "reality shows" on TV?

Nope - no website is worth spending money just to see it. Have you ever paddled a canoe or kayak?
|
|
|
Post by Midge on Jun 14, 2011 15:39:42 GMT -6
Yes, once, but most of my paddling has been in rowboats.
What's the most interesting vehicle you have ever driven (or ridden in?)

Strangely enough - the Nissan Cube. From the outside, that has to be the UGLIEST vehicle I've ever seen, with the lopsided back window, but on the inside it's quite nice - I loved the left-side drink holder high on the dash so you don't have to look down to find your water bottle (or whatever).
What's the nicest vehicle you've ever driven or ridden in?

Once when I was a teenager my uncle Ed gave me a ride in his Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. He was a real character. He loved to cruise around town just so that people would notice him. One day he picked up an attractive young lady and gave her a ride, not realizing that she was a . . . um . . . lady of the evening. Tongues were wagging, and when word got back to my aunt Mildred, she was not pleased. What's the most interesting trip you have ever taken?

Not much for Father's Day, but on Saturday we had a surprise birthday party for my husband. His real birthday is June 15, but being midweek some of the instigators couldn't come. Initially we thought of inviting neighbors from our church, but couldn't come up with a good way to get him to one of their houses, so we expanded our horizons and included his brother, whose oldest son Ian's birthday is on June 16, and Scott was led to believe the party was for Ian. Imagine his surprise when Scott entered his brother's back yard and saw people from church who had never met his brother previously!
Do you have children or grandchildren who will be attending any kind of summer camp?

No, because I don't have any children.
Have you ever been to summer camp?

Post by annavandenhazel on Jun 23, 2011 9:17:00 GMT -6
Yes, I went to Camp Fire Girls camp in 4th grade and hated it (only 2 other girls from my troop went, those 2 were always mean to me under normal circumstances and influenced the other girls in our cabin to be mean to me too). I did much better with attending LDS church girls' camp 5 times after I turned 12; not to say there were no meanies there, but at least it wasn't all the time.
Did you go on road trips with your parents in earlier years?
|
|
|
Post by Midge on Jun 23, 2011 17:27:07 GMT -6
Yes, my grandparents lived a long distance away, so we did a lot of long road trips to visit them.
Are you a good driver?

|
|
|
Post by Midge on Jun 24, 2011 2:58:40 GMT -6
No, my brother nearly killed himself in a motorcycle accident, and I've disliked them ever since.
Bill asked a question 10 days ago that somehow got skipped over, so I'll ask it again:

Do you have a favorite type of fiction that you like to read?

Post by Midge on Jun 25, 2011 14:19:22 GMT -6
No, I prefer to read non-fiction. Occasionally I will read a novel if someone I know recommends it highly. (I read The Da Vinci Code just to see what the big whoop was about.)
Do you listen to any radio programs regularly?

Yes I listen to lots of them on Radios 4 and Five Live.
