Have you ever visited a zoo?

Yes. We have a season pass, good for one year, to our great Wichita Zoo. It is a breeding zoo and one of the largest such zoos in the US. Needless to say our Petting Zoo is always filled with baby animals.

Post by dvdjunkie on Jan 19, 2013 10:07:38 GMT -6
Yes I did. I had the soundtrack to "Oklahoma" on as background music while I helped clean our part of the house. I did the bathroom and Bev took care of the rest of our living quarters.
What are you listening to right now?
Post by Midge on Jan 19, 2013 17:34:23 GMT -6
Right now I'm listening to (and watching) an excerpt from the ballet "Petrouchka" on the Classics Arts Showcase.
Do you care who wins the Super Bowl?
Post by dvdjunkie on Jan 20, 2013 11:34:18 GMT -6
Don't really care, as long as it's the 49ers vs. Baltimore Ravens. That would mean it is brother against brother, John Harbaugh against Jim Harbaugh. I just don't want it to be a blow-out. Just a good game, and great commercials.
Do you have a preference over which sport is your favorite?
Post by Larry's 66 Diner on Jan 20, 2013 12:09:29 GMT -6
I'm not really a sports fan, but I guess I would have to say that I'd prefer watching baseball or softball over most any other.

Rooting for the 49ers but I just want it to be a good game, not a blow-out, and hope there are some pretty good commercials.
What are you planning to do on Super Bowl ("har-bowl) Sunday?
Post by Midge on Jan 31, 2013 19:09:17 GMT -6
("Har-bowl," that's funny! ) I am hoping to convince Al that we need to go out for brunch. I don't care that much about football, but we will probably check in on the game now and then to see how it's going. I also hope it's not a blow out. What did you usually do on Sunday when you were a kid?

After church we always did something as a family. Go to the zoo, go to a park and have a picnic, things like that!
How far in advance do you make plans for an outing?

I usually plan ahead pretty far because Al is not the type who enjoys spontaneous outings.
Who is in charge of planning things at your house?
Post by dvdjunkie on Feb 2, 2013 11:54:21 GMT -6
It is a family decision. We put our heads together and decide what we are going to because we have an 8-year-old and a 5-year-old that are included in all outings we do. And believe it or not we also do spontaneous outings and sometimes they work out better than anything we planned in advance.
Do you have a favorite thing to do when the weather won't let you go outside?

Do you prefer four seasons or would you like to have mild weather all year round?
Post by dvdjunkie on Feb 5, 2013 10:10:23 GMT -6
Since I am a native Californian I didn't know there were four seasons. Then in 2000 we moved to Kansas and we have four different seasons, actually five. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Construction!! I love the four seasons, and have learned to love the snow, and the golden leaves of fall (I hate raking them!) and really like the overall weather here in the Heartland.
Which season of the year do you prefer?
