No, I have never owned a large car. The largest car I ever drove was my parents' 1961 Chevy Impala Station Wagon, which felt like a tuna boat to me. I'm short, and I could barely see over the dash. I feel much more comfortable in a compact car.
Have you ever owned a "tuna boat?"

Like you, the largest car I ever drove was Chevrolet Malibu Station Wagon, most of the cars in my life of driving have been small to mini-vans. My first car that I purchased myself was a Singer Gazelle. It was the replacement for my '49 Ford Convertible that was my first car ever.
What is your favorite mid-afternoon snack?

I like to have some dry roasted nuts or peanut butter on a rice cake. Trader Joe's sells bags of serving-size packets, either plain nuts or a combination like trail mix with cranberries. Thee make great snacks. Today we treated ourselves to something different, an "everything" bagel toasted with garlic-herb cream cheese.
What are you having for your snack today?

Went to Panera Bread yesterday for brunch, and picked up a mixture of bagels - a baker's dozen - and looks like we will have a bagel with crunchy peanut butter this afternoon. Tuesday I will use the toaster oven and make an open faced cheese sandwich.

I wonder why I procrastinate so much, but I'll think about that later. Has the weather changed at all in your neighborhood now that it's officially autumn?

Yes. Definitely. We have much cooler night temps - around middle 50's, and daytime highs struggle to hit the 80 degree mark. Great sleeping weather, and we are getting ready for what weather prognosticators are saying is going to be a "long hard winter season". That could mean lots of snow beginning Halloween Night.
Has social media helped you find any long lost friends?

Yes, on Facebook I found a woman that I hadn't seen since I was eight years old and she was 12. I always wondered what had become of her. My father was briefly engaged to her mother, so we might have been stepsisters, and I was very disappointed when that didn't happen.
Have you ever found an old friend on the internet?

Yes. After a separation of almost 25 years I was just cruising around Facebook and typed in his name and I found my best friend ever, Thomas Sean Bonniwell, former lead singer of The Music Machine and just an all around nice guy. We exchanged phone numbers and made voice contact, and I think the first time we talked it was over four hours long. I had my cell phone plugged in so it didn't drain the battery. At the end of the conversation we got around to what we are doing now, and he came up his business name Uncle Helmet's Music and told me that if I could send him $40 dollars he would send me the remixed versions on CD of his first Music Machine album and the beautifully re-mixed version of "Close", my favorite album of his, mostly because he took a Valentine poem I had written for a college newspaper and put it to music. Unfortunately we could never make physical contact, as he lived in Porterville, CA, and I am here in Wichita, Kansas. On December 20, 2011 Sean passed away from complications due to lung cancer. But I have all the memories of his music, with over 11 CDs, and his autobiography "Beyond the Garage", in which he writes about a couple little shenanigans we were involved in during the late 60's.

There are several houseplants inside including ferns and a dracaena tree. Outside there isn't much, just a couple of bushes in front, a few flowers in back, and a some day lilies along the side of the house.

Good day for playing outdoors with the grand kids. Then we went to their MMA graduation. Our daughter and son-in-law got their purple belts, our grandson Zach got his purple belt and grand daughter Tymber got her yellow belt. Then they fired up the grills and we had burgers, hot dogs, and cheddar brats along with some home made potato salad and macaroni salad. It was a giant potluck afternoon meal and there were several different versions of cakes and pies for dessert. Great Saturday even greater as a family.

My weekend was pretty routine. On Saturday I went over to my friend Margaret's house to take her picture. She's single and is posting on OK Cupid, but without a picture she wasn't getting many responses. Then I fried some pork chops for dinner and served them with applesauce, mashed spiced sweet potatoes and mixed vegetables. As usual on Saturday night, we watched a Lawrence Welk rerun on PBS. I also did some work on line for another site I'm involved in and read for a while.
On Sunday, I went to the gym with Margaret, picked up a few things at the grocery store, and am serving leftovers for dinner. We're going to try a new kind of ice cream for dessert, -- cardamom flavor! It sounds interesting, and it was on sale. We also watched the end of the Giants game, their last game of the season, which they won.
Do you have a junk drawer, and if so, what kinds of things would I find if I opened it?

Yes I have a junk drawer, I am a man, and all men that I know have junk drawers. In mine, at various times of the year, you will find loose screws, with nuts and bolts that don't match, jeweler's screw-driver set, miscellaneous instruction manuals for things I don't have any more, but they have to be kept in case someone asks me about that certain item. All of the coupons I can find and cut up (and rarely, read that never use). Loose socks, you know, the ones that don't have a mate. My list goes on and on, but it's my drawer and that is enough said.
I like this question:

My "junk drawer" is in the kitchen, and I keep all my kitchen tools that are too large for the regular drawer or not used often enough to keep them handy. Among other things you will find in there a rolling pin, funnels, a cherry pitter, meat and candy thermometers, a biscuit cutter, an apple corer, a potato ricer, a meat mallet, an egg beater and a pastry blender.
What toppings would you like on your pizza?

My favorite is Pepperoni, Green Peppers, Black olives and fresh tomatoes. My second favorite is Canadian Bacon, Green Peppers, Italian Sausage, Black olives. If I make my own at home it is usually a mixture of those two pizzas. Papa Murphy's Take-and-Bake pizza shops have what they call the Five-Meat Stuffed Pizza and it weighs five pounds. We order that one, once a month. Bring it home and bake it at 425 and it is good for a great afternoon meal. You don't want to eat anything else after that.
Good question:

I love the vegetarian pizza they make at our favorite Italian restaurant: mushrooms, red bell peppers, zucchini, red onion, roasted eggplant, mozzarella and pesto sauce.

No. If it tasted like it smells, then I might be a drinker, but I love the aroma brewing coffee leaves in a room.

Sun tea during the summer months, and then Trader Joe's lemonade/ice tea mix. Love to have ice tea with no lemon when we eat out, but other than that I will drink whatever tea I can get my hands on.

Yes. It is huge and we have a very nice stand for it to be placed on. From what Beverly can tell it has been in the family for at least six generations, because of the writings and cliff notes throughout the book. It is white and very, very old.

We don't go out on weekends (too crowded), but we have a regular Wednesday breakfast at a place called Chloe's, a tiny place with only nine tables, but they serve wonderful pancakes and scrambled eggs. We look forward to going there every week.

We are 'creatures of habit' when we all go to brunch after Church on Sunday. About three blocks away from our Church is IHOP, and that's where we always go. My favorite order off the menu is their 'Country Grill', which includes 2 eggs, two sausage links, 2 strips of crispy bacon, hash browns and a short stack of pancakes. At $5.95, it can't be beat and during the spring when it is "all you can eat" pancakes, I just add that to my order for an extra $2.

Did you ever listen to Wolfman Jack when he was on the radio?

When I was working at Original Sound records with the king of Drive-in music, Art Laboe, I was introduced to a gentleman named Robert Smith. I later found out that he was "Wolfman Jack", and when I learned what station he was on, that was all I needed. Probably one of the main reasons I love "American Graffiti" so much, because of that one scene that involves the Wolfman and all those melting popsicles.

Yes, it was KLIV in San Jose. I also liked KYA in San Francisco and another short-lived top 40 station in San Francisco called KEWB. The latter had a jingle that went, "Sound of the City!" My cousin Carol and I used to think it was hilarious to go into a public restroom together and sing "Sound o-o-o-f the City-y-y-y!" just before flushing the toilet.

KFWB, it was sister station to KEWB in San Francisco, was my favorite because of the deejays. I also listened very much to KRLA, because of the Wink Martindale countdown show on Friday nights. And Saturday nights it was Art Laboe live at Mel's Drive-In, a place that was immortalized in "American Graffiti". And, of course, XERB, the station where Wolfman Jack ruled the night airwaves.
